Job Description

Working within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Certificate Specialist assumes the insurance servicing needs for a variety of corporate clients within Southern California. This position is part of a “team” framework that provides support at every level. We are selective in our choice of talent; you must possess:

  • Strong typing ability. This job role requires a high level of accurate data entry
  • Proven organizational skills
  • People skills, written and in-person
  • Will, drive, aptitude, and attitude
  • General administrative support
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a deadline
  • Heavy communication with both clients and carriers

We are a meritocracy and will promote based on merit, not time.

Skills Required

  • Mutual Trust & Respect: The ability to know that if a task is given, it will be followed through accordingly. A “Team Player” attitude is essential.
  • Attention to Detail: The successful candidate will have an extreme attention to detail; accuracy checking is a vital component of this position.
  • A sense of Urgency: Timeframes and deadlines run the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have a sense of urgency about tasks and will plan their workload in anticipation of deadlines.
  • “Will to Win”: The candidate will do what it takes to assist in obtaining and retaining business. This will require the ability to go above and beyond what is customarily expected, when appropriate.
  • Positive Attitude: Probably the most essential factor in customer service.
  • Potential for Autonomy: After a “learning curve,” the candidate needs to demonstrate the potential for handling a portion of the workload independently; however, team support will always be available.
  • Ability to Assimilate Basic Insurance and Customer Service Knowledge: This can be taught rapidly “on the job” for the right candidate. The key here is the aptitude of the candidate and his or her willingness to learn, not necessarily the amount of time spent in the industry.
